How Much Can You Actually Borrow?

Your real buying power — income, age and the rules, not a rough guess. Andrea Goh · PropNex

Before you view a single unit, know your ceiling. A bank sizes up how much it will lend you using MAS's own TDSR/MSR framework — based on your income, age, existing debts and the property type, not a guess. This tool runs the same math.

Terms this tool uses

TDSR
— Total Debt Servicing Ratio: all your monthly debts, including this loan, can't exceed 55% of income.
MSR
— Mortgage Servicing Ratio (HDB/EC only): the home loan itself is capped at 30% of income.
LTV
— Loan-to-Value: the percentage of the price a bank will lend; the rest is your downpayment.

Amounts can be casual — “14k”, “$180,000”. Required fields marked *.
